Prince Daniel’s Fellowship
visits SaltX in Hofors
Prince Daniel’s Fellowship and the Business Executives Council of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) visited SaltX’s development and test facility in Hofors this week. The delegation learned about the company’s work to develop and scale electrification technology for emissions-intensive industries and discussed the opportunities and challenges of moving new Swedish industrial technology from development to industrial application.
Swedish innovation for industrial transition
The visit is part of Prince Daniel’s Fellowship’s efforts to highlight entrepreneurship and innovation across Sweden and to create opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with established businesses. IVA has also highlighted SaltX this year for its work electrifying the cement industry.
The visit brought together Prince Daniel’s Fellowship and IVA’s Business Executives Council for an exchange of experiences on entrepreneurship, technology development, and industrial transition.
An industrial test center for development and scale-up
SaltX’s industrial test center in Hofors plays a central role in developing and scaling the company’s electrification technology for high-temperature industrial processes. The facility enables testing and verification at an industrially relevant scale ahead of future production plants.
The test center has been used for material testing and for developing technology and processes for electrified quicklime production, together with SMA Mineral, and, most recently, for cement raw meal precalcination, together with Holcim.
