When I look back on the first half of the year, what stands out is how tangible our progress has become. SaltX’s technology is no longer primarily something we develop and test but is increasingly being shaped into industrial projects in close collaboration with customers and industrial partners.
One clear example is the progress we have made in the cement industry. This spring, we successfully produced high-quality cement clinker using a fully electrified process, an achievement that further strengthens the industrial relevance of our technology.
Building on this progress, the recently announced EU-funded project with Holcim and Paebbl marks an important step in scaling and industrially verifying SaltX’s electrified clinker technology. For SaltX, this is a core development path and a clear demonstration of how electrified production can become part of a broader circular cement value chain.
At the same time, we have continued to advance our other application areas and deepen our collaboration with both existing partners and a growing group of industrial players. A recent example is the feasibility study order from Groupe Pigeon for an electrified quicklime plant, marking a further step in the commercialization of our technology and expanding into new industrial collaborations.
On a personal level, it is deeply rewarding to see how many years of dedicated work are now translating into concrete results. It strengthens my conviction that SaltX has an important role to play in enabling the transition of emissions-intensive industries.
Regarding the pilot plant in Mo i Rana, SMA Mineral has been evaluating several improvement measures for the plant this spring, a process that is still ongoing. We expect to receive an update on the order in the third quarter of this year.
We have also continued to develop our business model and partnership structures to support long-term profitability. This work has progressed in parallel with our commercial discussions and continues to strengthen our conviction that SaltX can establish a competitive and scalable position in the market.
As several important elements are now coming together, we believe the most meaningful update will be one that reflects the broader picture. We therefore plan to return with a more comprehensive update later this autumn.
We are now at a point where several years of technology development are being scaled up and translated into industrial projects, forming the basis for repeatable deployments and future growth. This gives us a strong foundation for the months ahead, and we look forward to continuing our commercialization journey and reaching new milestones.
